This workshop will focus on identifying specific areas where investment in data mining can achieve significant ROI.

4 key sources of loss will be examined:

• Fraud – reducing intentional malpractice by staff, customers or collusion between the two
• Error – preventing unintentional loss

• Non compliance - where actual behaviour does not conform to policy or best practice

NON-CONFRONTATIONAL INTERVIEWING TECHNIQUES

Wicklander, Zulawski & Associates are world renowned specialists in the development and practical application of non-confrontational interviewing techniques. In this workshop expert investigators will walk you through specific steps on how to obtain a confession without confrontation from staff or others that you suspect of fraud against your company or theft from your facilities.

In addition, Syed Raza, from Polo Ralph Lauren will give a direct retailer perspective on how this form of interviewing yields real results and saves time and money as well as countering many of the difficulties associated with more traditional interviewing procedures. You'll benefit from a wealth of examples and practical know-how that you can apply to your own investigations and will see videos of actual cases that will really bring the techniques to life.

In this workshop you'll learn:

• Why people lie … and why knowing this gives you a huge advantage in any investigations
• How using the WZ Method Non-Confrontation Approach makes the interview more credible in the eyes of the suspect … and why this is vital to the entire process
• Why giving suspects an opportunity to rationalize their reasons for offending deflects the pressure and makes it easier for them to own up
• How to spot behaviour patterns at specific points in the interview and how you can adapt further questioning as a result
